How do I book student accommodation with Yugo?
Booking with Yugo for your Erasmus+ exchange takes four steps: confirm your exchange place, choose your residence and length of stay, book online and plan your arrival. Here's what to do at each step:
Confirm your exchange place: Once your hoe university has nominated you and your host university has accepted you, you'll know your city and dates.
Choose your residence and length of stay: Pick a residence close to your host university and a tenancy that fits your exchange.
Book online: Click "Book Now", complete your application and pay your deposit to secure your room.
Move In: With your accommodation booked, it’s time to plan your arrival! Our friendly teams will coordinate your move-in date, time and parking arrangements. For arrivals outside office hours, inform the team in advance.
Can I cancel or change my Yugo booking?
You may be able to cancel or change your booking, but you'll need to provide proof and terms vary. Please check the cancellation policy for your specific booking, or contact our residence team, who can talk you through the options.
What is the "No Visa, No Pay" policy?
"No Visa, No Pay" is available at 30+ Yugo properties in the UK. So, if your UK student visa application is refused, you can cancel your booking and you won't pay a penny (terms and conditions apply). It means you can book your room early and with confidence, even before your visa is confirmed.
Do I need a guarantor to rent with Yugo?
Not always. Whether you need a guarantor depends on how you pay: if you pay all your rent in a single payment before check-in, you usually won't need one. If you pay monthly, a guarantor is usually required.
A guarantor is someone aged 18 or over who agrees to pay your rent if you're unable to, for example, a parent, a guardian or a close relative. If you ever struggle to meet a monthly payment, speak to your support team first: Yugo will only contact your guarantor as a last resort, if the terms of your tenancy can't be met.
Can I choose my flatmates at Yugo?
It depends on the residence and availability when you book.
If you'd like to live with a friend, tell the accommodation team as early as possible and they'll do their best to place you together. Requests are handled case by case, especially during busy booking periods, so it's always worth getting in touch early to make a specific request.
